Wathall’s Expands With New Appointments

Wathall’s, Derby’s long-established funeral directors, has expanded its team with four new appointments.

Greg Martin, Faye Evans and Anita Fenton have joined the company as Funeral Arrangers – working across the four offices in Derby city centre, Borrowash, Alvaston and Ashbourne. Kaylee Dicken has also joined as a purchase ledger clerk to boost the administrative support across the company.

Wathall’s, which celebrates its 160th anniversary this year, has also expanded its Alvaston office with the opening of the new Wathall’s Memorials showroom with a wide range of headstones and graveside ornaments hand-crafted by local stonemasons.

Managing Director Helen Wathall is the fifth generation of the family to head up the funeral directors business.

She said: “Every generation in the family has left their indelible legacy for the future and I am committed to expanding Wathall’s so that we can better serve more local communities with a wide range of funeral planning, arranging, later life planning and bereavement support services.

“Our new appointments bring the staff numbers to 34 this year and we have plans for further growth both in size and the geographical reach of the company in the coming months.”
