Bereavement Support Groups
Our Dandelions Bereavement Support Groups meet each month and are free to attend. All are welcome to join us, regardless of how long ago your loss occurred.
The groups are available to people of all ages, regardless of whether or not Wathall’s arranged their loved one’s funeral.
Meetings:
Ashbourne Dandelions – Meet on the first Wednesday of the month, 1.30pm-3pm at the Century Hall, Station Road, Ashbourne. There is ramp access to the hall just around the corner, which can be found on the left-hand side of the steps to Ashbourne Methodist Church, which is on Church Street.
Derby Dandelions – Meet on the second and last Tuesday of each month, 1.30-3.30pm at St. Peter’s in the City, St. Peter’s Street, Derby.
Evening Dandelions, Derby – Meet on the first Tuesday of each month, 6-8pm at Derby Rugby Club, Haslam’s Lane, Derby
The support groups are open to anyone who has experienced a bereavement – whether recently or several years ago.
The informal and welcoming group sessions are the chance for members to meet like-minded people in a social and safe setting with support from skilled and experienced facilitators where you can share stories and express feelings freely knowing others will understand, be non-judgemental and supportive.
Our aim is to enable you to live a full and meaningful life in the here and now as well as in the future.
“At this group, I found help and friends who were willing to spend time with me and listen to my story. People who understood how I felt as a widow. The group leaders really make you feel welcome”.
