Local Event Encourages People To Plan For Later Life

Derby and Ashbourne family-owned funeral directors G.Wathall & Son Ltd are teaming up with Flint Bishop Solicitors for an event focusing on planning for later life.

An afternoon tea will be held at Derby Heights Care Home in Rykneld Road, Littleover, on Friday January 19 between 1pm and 3pm for residents, families and members of the public.

It will be an opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics with Wathall’s

later life planning co-ordinator Joan Henchliffe and Jo Robinson from Flint Bishop Solicitors – a specialist in wills, Power of Attorney and other legal and financial matters.

Helen Wathall is Managing Director and the fifth generation of her family to run G Wathall & Son which has offices in Derby, Ashbourne, Alvaston and Borrowash.

She said: “Families tend to be uncomfortable about discussing later life plans, including death, but we want to change this taboo and alter attitudes towards discussing later life, death and bereavement.

“By doing this – we know that this brings people of all ages greater peace of mind that their wishes will be known on key aspects about their later life and that they and their families will have financial security in the future.”

If you are interested in attending, please call Jo Robinson on 01332 226190 or email jo.robinson@flintbishop.co.uk or just turn up on the day.
